Glossary

Clicks-per-Impression- A ratio that can be used to determine the success of an advertisements. This ratio is obtained by dividing the number of click-throughs by the number of impressions.

Click-throughs- The number of times that a visitor clicks on your advertisement and actually links to your web-site.

Hits- The number of times a server is accessed. Hits are irrelevant to an advertiser, because a visit to each page or graphic could count as one hit. Impressions are what are relevant to advertisers.

Impressions- The number of times a PC-Help Online visitor sees your advertisement.

Multiplier- This is a number assigned to an advertisement based on the number of times it will be seen by a visitor relative to the other ads on PC-Help Online. For example, an ad with a multiplier of three will be seen three times as often as an ad with a multiplier of one.

Redirects- This is the mechanism PC-Help Online uses to count visits to an advertiser's web site directed there from pchelponline.com.

Rotational Advertising System- This is the system used by PC-Help Online which displays a different ad each time a page is accessed by a visitor.
