Definition: If you are looking for a file and don't know where to find it, then you might want to give Archie a try. Or possibly you would like to search for files matching a certain naming criteria and find out where you can download them. Archie servers are essentially a database of all anonymous FTP sites in the world. This allows you to find a site or name of a file to be retrieved. Archie can be very slow.
